Accessing EarthRanger on the web is simple, whether you're setting up your admin account, logging in with a username and password, or using a user profile. Follow these steps to get started and manage your EarthRanger site efficiently. 
 

Admin Account Creation

To set up a new user account in EarthRanger, including configuring permissions and user profiles, refer to Managing Users and Permissions for detailed instructions.

Resetting Your Password 
 

If you forget your password or need to reset it, contact your EarthRanger site administrator or the EarthRanger support team member who can assist you with the generation of a password reset link.  
 

Steps to Reset Your Password:

1. On the EarthRanger Admin page navigate and click on Users. 
2. Select or search for the username that needs a password reset email. 
3. Make sure that the user has an email address in the email field.
4. Click on the Email Password Reset button. 
5. You will receive an email with your username, the site you’ve requested access to and a link to follow the instructions to do so. 
6. The link is available for 48hrs for security reasons. 
7. Once the password is set, you will be asked to log in and that will become your password. 

Logging In

Logging into EarthRanger can be done with a username and password or by using a user profile for enhanced security.

Logging in with a Username and Password: 
 

1. Open Your Web Browser: 
   1. Use Google Chrome for the best experience.
2. Go to the EarthRanger Web App:
   1. Enter the URL https://<your_organization>.pamdas.org.
3. Enter Your Credentials:
   1. Input your EarthRanger username and password.
4. Click "Log In":
   1. Click the Log In button to access your EarthRanger dashboard. 
       

Logging in with a User Profile: 
 

1. Select Username:
2. On the EarthRanger title bar, select Username to display the User Profiles associated.
3. Choose Your Profile:
4. From the dropdown menu, select your username to log in. 

Logging in with a user profile allows specific operators to access EarthRanger without a system password, but only from within the control room, enhancing security.

Logging Out
 

When you’re done, make sure to log out to secure your account.

Logging out with a Username and Password:

1. Select your username on the title bar and then choose Log Out.
    

Logging out with a User Profile:

1. On the EarthRanger title bar, select your username and then select Username from the dropdown menu.
