EarthRanger Web now supports most of the world’s Coordinate Reference Systems (CRS). This means you can view and enter data in the coordinate system that best matches your operational needs, without having to manually transform data outside of EarthRanger.
Why this matters
Many organizations rely on a local coordinate system for reporting and mapping. With this feature, you can choose your preferred CRS and EarthRanger will automatically transform the data for you.
How to set your coordinate system
- In EarthRanger Web, open the Settings sidebar tab.
- Select the Map sub-menu.
- Choose Coordinate Systems.
- Select your desired CRS from the list.
- EarthRanger will now display and accept coordinates using the system you selected.

EarthRanger still stores data in its internal standard system. The conversion only affects how you see and enter coordinates in the interface of EarthRanger.
If you share data with partners who use a different CRS, EarthRanger will continue to handle the transformation automatically.
