Icons reflect the locations of items of interest on the Map such as tracked animals, devices such as GPS radios or devices using EarthRanger Mobile (see Tracked Subjects) or objects (such as Events) whose coordinates have been reported to EarthRanger (for example carcasses, fires, or arrests).
Clicking on an icon on the Map opens the associated Event or Subject to see all available details and additional settings or interactions (e.g. Event Details or Subject details, tracks and heatmaps).
Icons can be updated via EarthRanger Admin, see Feature Classes and Event and Event Type Configuration
