Release Notes 2.138

This release introduces new tools for administrators and analysts, including a guided CSV Import Wizard for historical observations, GeoJSON export for patrol tracks, geography-based filtering for analyzers, and updated guidance for migrating Event Types from v1 to v2.

Improvements

  • v1 to v2 Event Type Migration Tool
The automatic migration service to upgrade Event Types from v1 to v2 has been updated to support more sites’ data needs.

If your organization is still using v1 Event Types, the migration tool provides a structured path to upgrade your configuration.
For step-by-step instructions, see: Upgrade Event Types to V2 Using the Migration Tool
  • CSV Observation Import Wizard
Administrators can now import historical tracking data into EarthRanger using a step-by-step wizard. Upload a standard CSV file, map your existing data columns to the corresponding EarthRanger observation fields, and the tool handles the conversion — making it easier to bring legacy datasets into the system without manual data entry.

For full setup instructions, see: Import Observations Using the CSV Import Wizard
  • Patrol Track GeoJSON Download
Users can now download the track data for any patrol directly in GeoJSON format. This makes it straightforward to bring patrol routes into external mapping or spatial analysis tools that support this standard format.
  • Analyzer Feature Group Filters
A feature group filter is now available on every analyzer, allowing you to restrict an analyzer's scope to a specific geographic area. For example, a speeding analyzer can be configured to only generate alerts when activity occurs within the boundaries of a defined park or protected area, reducing noise from irrelevant alerts outside your area of interest.
