EarthRanger Web 2.149 adds inline playback for event audio and video, makes community input tools available on every site, and includes a set of fixes for patrols, alerts, and data export.

Play Audio and Video Attachments in Events
Audio and video files attached to events now play directly in the event, so you no longer have to download them to review them.

Community Input Available to All Sites
The community input review state and the Attachment form element are now available on every EarthRanger site. They no longer need to be turned on as preview features.

Location Handling for Community Input
When a reporter selects “Use my location,” EarthRanger now asks for location permission and shows a clear message if permission is denied. If the device is slow to return a location, reporters can now cancel the request and continue.

Filter Inactive Source Assignments in Subjects Admin
Administrators can now filter subjects by inactive source assignments. This makes it easier to find and clean up subjects whose tracking devices are no longer assigned.

Faster Patrol Feed
The patrol feed now loads faster and uses less data, especially on sites with many patrols.

Updated Patrol List Order
The patrol list is now grouped by state (open, done, then cancelled) and, within each group, sorted from newest to oldest. Patrols without a serial number no longer appear in the list.

Stricter Validation When Reordering Patrol and Event Types
Requests that reorder patrol types or event types now reject unexpected fields. This affects only custom integrations that call the API directly.

Faster Source Deletion
Deleting a source now takes time in proportion to that source’s data, not the size of the whole site.

Return to Your Page After Sign-In
After signing in, you’re now returned to the page you originally requested.

🐛 Bug Fixes

• Fixed an issue where uploading an attachment to a community input report failed and signed the reporter out. Attachments now upload correctly.
• Fixed an issue where EarthRanger Mobile users with patrol permissions received an error when loading patrol segment details. These users can now access them as expected.
• Fixed issues that could prevent multi-segment patrols from saving correctly or opening in the patrol admin. Invalid leg time ranges are now rejected before they can affect the patrol.
• Fixed an issue where patrols could show linked events that the viewer doesn’t have permission to see.
• Fixed an issue where silent source and FIRMS reports sent duplicate alerts. Each report now sends one alert.
• Fixed an issue where event CSV exports dropped data when two fields shared the same label. All field data is now included.
