EarthRanger Mobile 3.2.0 introduces inline attachment form fields, enabling photos, videos, and documents to be captured directly within event forms, backed by a new resumable, chunked upload system for image, video, and document attachments.

🌟 New Features

Event forms can now include dedicated inline form attachment fields for images, videos, and documents (PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, CSV), as configured by your admin in the Event Type schema. A field can accept a single file type or multiple types together. Attachments added to these fields upload automatically when the event is submitted and are linked to the event once processed.  

To add an inline attachment to an event form:

 

  1. Open an event form that includes an attachment field.
  2. The field will indicate whether it accepts photos, videos, documents, or a mix of types.
  3. Tap Add Photo, Add Video, or Add Document depending on the field.
  4. Capture new media or select an existing file.
  5. Submit the event — the attachment uploads automatically and appears on the event once synced.
  
Note: All attachments upload in chunks in this release, and uploads automatically resume if interrupted by a network drop or an app restart, so you don't need to restart the upload manually.


 

🚀 Improvements

Resumable chunked image uploads: Image attachment uploads are now broken into chunks and automatically resume after a network interruption or app restart, reducing failed or stalled uploads.

Upload progress visibility: Event list cards now display live upload progress (image count and percentage) while attachments are syncing, so you can track status without leaving the events list.
