User: Displays the currently logged-in EarthRanger user. All patrols, tracking, and events created in the app are associated with this user. If the logged-in user has a PIN and profiles with PINs associated, a Switch User button appears, allowing you to switch to any profile that has a PIN associated with the logged-in user. |

Patrol Info: When enabled, select an event type to open automatically each time a new patrol is started. See: Understanding Patrol Info: Automating Event Creation with Patrols in EarthRanger Mobile Merge Event Categories: When enabled, all event types from every category are shown together in a single grid when creating a new event, skipping the category selection step.

Tracking

Switch Tracked By Subject: By default, your user account is linked to a specific subject that represents you on the map. This setting lets you select a different subject for that role — for example, if you're managing another ranger's device or operating under a different subject profile. Available subjects are determined by the default patrol settings configured in the EarthRanger admin site. Optimize Sync: Controls how tracking data is uploaded. When enabled, tracking points are uploaded in batches of 25. When disabled, points are uploaded one by one. Restart the app to apply changes.

Photo Quality: Select the quality of photos uploaded with events. Lower quality reduces upload size and speeds up submission on slower connections. Applies only to photos taken with the device camera.
Save to Camera Roll: Automatically saves photos taken within the app to your device's camera roll.
Upload Photos with Wifi: When enabled, photos are only uploaded when a Wi-Fi connection is available. |

Shared Events: When enabled, syncs all events from EarthRanger that your account has permission to view, displaying them in the Events tab and on the map.

Displays the Privacy Policy and End User License Agreement. Also includes: Report an Issue: generates app logs and the local database to share with the EarthRanger support team. Logs are sent via your device's email client, so an active email account must be configured. See more details here: EarthRanger Mobile App Troubleshooting - Submit App Logs Help Center: opens the EarthRanger help center directly from the app. |
Important note to report an issue: Ensure your device is able to send email
The Report an Issue feature generates the logs and database, but they are sent via your device email client, so you must have an email app (email client) installed and an active email account configured.
iOS specific note
Gmail, Outlook and other third party mail apps are not compatible with EarthRanger Mobile’s Report an Issue process on iOS. If you are using an iPhone or iPad you need to set up the native Apple Mail app with an active email account in order to send logs and reports.
For more information visit: Prerequisite: Set Up an Email Client on your Device
