Findmy Event Type

This integration sends distress and inactivity alerts to EarthRanger through Gundi. For these alerts to appear as reports, your site must have two event types — one for each alert. Create both, using the values below.

Required event types

1 — Distress Alert
Display Name Your choice — e.g., Distress Alert
Value distress_rep
2 — Inactivity Alert
Display Name Your choice — e.g., Inactivity Alert
Value inactivity_rep
⚠️ Important: Make sure the token used for the integration has permissions to the Event Category hosting these event types (e.g., Monitoring). Without it, the events will not be created in EarthRanger.

How to configure each event type

Repeat these steps once for each of the two event types above.

  1. In your EarthRanger site, create a new event type.
  2. Give it a Display Name of your choice.
  3. Set the Value to the identifier listed in the card.
  4. Set the Category.
  5. Assign a Geometry Type and Default Priority.
  6. Click Save.

You don't need to fill in anything on the Event Form tab — the integration works without a custom form.
