Migrating from Ecoscope Downloader
Ecoscope Downloader is no longer available as of June 30, 2026. If you are still using it, this article will help you migrate to Ecoscope Web (recommended) or Ecoscope Desktop.
If you are still using Ecoscope Downloader, we strongly recommend migrating to Ecoscope Web. Ecoscope Web runs in the cloud on a modern, secure, and performant foundation, and is not limited by your local hardware or network connection. It also supports more in-depth analyses of your data and is improving fast.
Ecoscope Desktop is available as an alternative when cloud export is not the right fit.
✅ RECOMMENDED: Migrating to Ecoscope Web
Ecoscope Web includes specialized download workflows that let you export Events, Patrols and Subject Tracks data from your EarthRanger instance as parquet or csv files. Ecoscope Web also supports v2 Event Types and exporting Event attachments.
Before you begin
If you do not already have an account, sign up for Ecoscope Web.
- Log in to Ecoscope Web.
- Explore the Ecoscope Support Center to learn how Ecoscope Web works and to familiarize yourself with the interface.
- Connect an EarthRanger data source for your instance
- Create and run the appropriate workflow for the data you want to export:
↪️ ALTERNATIVE: Migrating to Ecoscope Desktop
Ecoscope Desktop lets you run the same specialized download workflows locally on your machine. Use this option if cloud export is not the right fit for your organization. Windows, macOS, and Ubuntu Linux are supported.
Before you begin
Ensure you are running Ecoscope Desktop v1.0.0 or later.
- Download a full installer from the download page. If you are currently on v0.3.0 or later, you can use the built-in patch upgrade flow instead.
- Explore the Ecoscope support center to learn how Ecoscope Desktop works and familiarize yourself with the interface.
- Connect an EarthRanger data source for your instance.
- Create and run the appropriate workflow for the data you want to export:
