Prerequisites
Data Fetch
- Skylight account.
- Skylight area of interest unique identifier from Skylight.
- List of Skylight event types you want to integrate (e.g., entry alerts, fishing alerts, etc.).
Data Delivery
EarthRanger
- A special EarthRanger user with permissions to post event data.
- Please refer to EarthRanger's documentation or contact Support.
- A long-lived token for the special user.

- Confirm that the required event types and schemas are configured in EarthRanger. Consult our references here.
Smart Connect
- Ensure that the necessary categories and attributes are established in your SMART CA data model beforehand. Consult our references here.

Vessel Detection Events
- VIIRS Detection:
viirs– Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) satellite detection event. - Sentinel-1 Detection:
sar_sentinel1– European Space Agency Sentinel-1 satellite detection event. - Sentinel-2 Detection:
eo_sentinel2– European Space Agency Sentinel-2 satellite detection event. - Landsat 8/9 Detection:

Description: Speed range event in an Area of Interest (AOI).

Description: Entry event in an Area of Interest (AOI).

Transshipment Events
- Dark Rendezvous:
dark_rendezvous– Transshipment event where only one vessel is broadcasting AIS. - Standard Rendezvous:
standard_rendezvous– Transshipment event where both vessels are broadcasting AIS.

Configuration in Gundi
Click on Create Connection.
Select Skylight.
Configure your Skylight credentials under Username and Password.
Configure the area of interest under Area of Interest (AOI) IDs after clicking on Add Item.
Select one or more Skylight event types to fetch.
Select your Organization.
Enter a name for this Connection (e.g., “Skylight - AccountName”)
Click Next.
Select a Destination. Please consult our guides.
Data Delivery
The time it takes for data to appear in your destination system depends on several factors, such as latency introduced by the source, network conditions, and intermediary systems. While these factors may vary, Gundi typically checks for available data at scheduled intervals (approximately every 10 minutes).
If data is not available in your system after this interval, please check the source of the data for its availability. If the issue persists, contact our Support team for assistance.
