Profiles on Web allows changing between users without a system password.
Profiles with PINs can be used to allow profile switching on the same device, with access only to the profiles (and permissions) associated with the PIN.
Profile creation and user PIN assignment must first be completed manually in EarthRanger Web Admin site.

Logging into a PIN Profile on EarthRanger Web
Ensure Profiles have been set up in EarthRanger Web Admin before attempting the following steps:
- First log in to your EarthRanger site on the preferred web browser, using a Parent User account that has associated Child User Profiles set up.
- To switch to a Profile with a PIN, click on the username of the logged in user in the top Navigation Bar.
- In a dropdown, you should see a list of available User Profiles.
- Once you select the User Profile a prompt will appear asking you to Enter Your PIN. Enter the PIN associated with the selected User Profile.
This PIN is a 4-digit number configured from the admin page.
- If entered correctly, the page will refresh, and you will be able to continue using EarthRanger as the User Profile you just logged in with.
- When logged in with a User Profile, the logged in user may create patrols and reports all linked to this Profile. This also adds a layer of security to the EarthRanger system when sharing devices and platforms.
Logging out of a User Profile session
- Profile users will only be able to switch to another Profile.
- To log out, click on the username for the logged in user in the top Navigation Bar, return to the Parent User Profile by selecting it from the dropdown and entering the associated PIN.
- From here you can once again click on the username for the logged in (Parent) user in the top Navigation Bar and select Log out.
