Self-Service integration not available yet. Requires assistance from Support.

This integration requires assistance from our support team for setup and configuration. Please contact our support team at support@earthranger.com and we’ll guide you through the process to ensure everything is set up correctly.

We are actively working to make this integration self-service in the future. Stay tuned for updates!

I. Integration Prerequisites

Data Ingestion

  Sentinel account.

  Access to the Sentinel dashboard.

Data Delivery

Credentials or an authentication token to access the destination system.

EarthRanger

  • A special EarthRanger user with permissions to post event data.
    • Please refer to EarthRanger's documentation or contact Support.
  • A long-lived token for the special user.
    • Please refer to EarthRanger's documentation or contact Support.
  • Confirm that the required event types and schemas are configured in EarthRanger. Consult our references here.

Smart Connect

  • Ensure that the necessary categories and attributes are established in your SMART CA data model beforehand. Consult our references here.

II. Configuration Steps

Configurations in Gundi

Gundi v1 (click to expand)

Audience: Support Team

Go to Gundi v1.

Go to the Inbound Integrations and select Add Integration.

Follow the steps below to configure the integration:

Name: Enter any name for this connection.

Owner:  Select the integration's owner.

Type: Sentinel

Provider Key:  Leave empty. Gundi will automatically give it a slug value.

Default Device Group: Leave empty. Gundi will automatically create a default group.

Endpoint:  Leave empty

Token:  Leave empty

Login/Password:  Leave empty

State:

{}

Click Save.

Configure the Default Device Group to select the destination site.

This configuration will result in an API Key, which is needed for the next step of the integration.

Final Steps

Paste the API key generated in the previous step into your Sentinel account, under the Gundi integration section.

Then, configure the integration by selecting the species identifiers that should trigger events via this connection.

III. Characteristics

  • This integration automatically sends events to EarthRanger and/or SMART Connect whenever Sentinel detects a species.
  • Current limitation: Image attachments are not yet included in the events. We're actively working on enhancing the integration to support this feature.
  • With Sentinel, you can configure which species detections should trigger alerts via Gundi.

IV. Data Delivery

The time it takes for data to appear in your destination system depends on several factors, such as latency introduced by the source, network conditions, and intermediary systems. While these factors may vary, Gundi typically checks for available data at scheduled intervals (approximately every 10 minutes).

If data is not available in your system after this interval, please check the source of the data for its availability. If the issue persists, contact our Support team for assistance.
