If you need to exclude erroneous offset points from the subject’s track data, follow these steps:
To exclude incorrect GPS points (e.g., when a device temporarily reports an invalid location), follow these steps:
-
1. Identify the Problem Point on the Map
In the EarthRanger Web Map Interface, locate the subject.
Zoom in on the track and click the suspect GPS point.
Note the timestamp and coordinates shown in the popup. -
2. Locate the Observation in the Admin Table
Return to the Admin site.
Navigate toObservations > Subjects
.
Open the subject’s profile and click “See more observations…”
Use the timestamp and coordinates to find the offset entry in the table. -
3. Mark as Excluded
Check the box next to the observation row.
In the Exclusion Flags column, tick:
EXCLUDED_MANUALLY
Note: This process must be repeated for each offset track-timepoint, as the current system does not yet support a more dynamic selection method for excluding points.
