What data is sent to TrapTagger
For every camera trap photo, Gundi delivers the image file together with the details TrapTagger needs to file it under the right camera:

Configuration in Gundi
Once your Connection is already available in the Gundi Portal, follow this guide:
I. Create a Destination
- Click on Create Destination.
- Select TrapTagger.
- Enter a name for this connection. e.g., “TrapTagger (AccountUsername or Owner)”.
- Select your Organization.
- Leave the following fields empty. We will remove them in a future update:
- URL
- Enter your TrapTagger API Key.
- Click Add to finish.
II. Edit your Connection
- Go to Connections.
- Select the Connection with the data source you wish to set up.
- Select your newly created destination with TrapTagger. Please consult our guides for detailed instructions.
Data latency — what to expect
| Situation | Typical time to appear in TrapTagger |

| Normal delivery | Under a minute after the photo reaches Gundi. |
| Photo details and image arrive out of order | Up to a few minutes. Gundi pairs them automatically and retries. |
| TrapTagger temporarily unavailable | Gundi retries automatically for up to 24 hours; photos are delivered once the service recovers. |
| Photo rejected by TrapTagger (e.g. unknown camera name) | Not delivered. |
Note that the total time from the moment the camera takes a photo depends mostly on your data provider (when the camera uploads, how often the provider forwards data). The times above cover only the Gundi-to-TrapTagger leg.
