This integration for movement data requires assistance from the wpsWatch team to configure your account for data push to Gundi.
Prerequisites
Data Fetch
- wpsWatch Account.
Data Delivery
EarthRanger
To send event data to EarthRanger, you will need:
- A special EarthRanger user (e.g., “Gundi Service Account”) for this integration. Please refer to EarthRanger's documentation or contact Support.
- A long-lived token for authentication assigned to the user created in the previous step. Please refer to EarthRanger's documentation or contact Support.
- Confirm that the required event types and schemas are configured in EarthRanger.

Configuration in Gundi
Login to Gundi.
Click Create Connection.
Select wpsWatch.
Select your Organization.

Configure Data Provider
Navigate to your Connection.
Copy the API Key from the Overview tab.
Provide this API key to your WPS point of contact. This authentication key will help them complete the integration for you.
WPS Staff will help you with the following actions:
- Edit the Integrations in the wpsWatch site to enable the Gundi integration with the URL and API Key.
- Update the alert configuration(s) in wpsWatch to send the alerts to Gundi.
- Validations.
Considerations
- This integration does not currently include event updates. If a ‘rhino’ tag is added to the photo in wpsWatch, that tag won’t be added to the event in ER.
- An integration with Cmore is in the roadmap, but not yet available.
- The array of tags isn’t reportable in ER, so there’s a separate Tags field that contains a comma-delimited list of tags that can be used for reporting. It isn’t displayed in the UI for the event, but it is included in exports.
Characteristics
- This integration is classified as a “Push” type, meaning wpsWatch services send data to Gundi as soon as they process the images. Gundi then immediately attempts to forward the image and metadata to the destination specified in the Connection.
Note on Latency
The time it takes for data to appear in your destination system depends on several factors, such as latency introduced by the source, network conditions, and intermediary systems. While these factors may vary, Gundi typically checks for available data at scheduled intervals (approximately every 10 minutes).
If data is not available in your system after this interval, please check the source of the data for its availability. If the issue persists, contact our Support team for assistance.
