Sources in Gundi

In Gundi, a Source is a physical or virtual device that sends data through a Route — for example a wildlife collar, a camera trap, a weather station, or a vessel transponder.

You don't create Sources by hand. Gundi discovers them automatically: when a data provider starts sending data, each distinct device it reports appears as a Source linked to that provider's Route.

Accessing Sources

Select Sources from the top navigation bar. The list shows every Source discovered by the Routes in your Workspaces.

What's in the list

  • External ID — the identifier the device reports to its provider (for example, a collar or device ID). Use the copy icon to copy it to the clipboard.
  • Provider Type — the technology the Source belongs to.
  • Route — the Route the Source sends data through. A Source whose provider has no Route yet is flagged accordingly.
  • Destinations — where the Source's data is delivered.
  • Created At — when Gundi first saw data from the Source.

Searching, filtering and sorting

  • Search by External ID in the search box.
  • Filter by Technology, Destination, Workspace, or Destination Type.
  • Sort by External ID (A–Z / Z–A) or by creation date (Newest / Oldest First).
